behavioral Research
All faculty in our lab are both clinicians and scientists. Much of the research conducted in our lab is on the "basic" level - a way of understanding certain disorders affect perception, emotion, and other systems. We've also spent much time trying to understand how people who have certain psychological disorders differ from others. We currently have several basic research projects going on in the lab. Among these are:
Emotional Functioning: Studies of emotional sensitivity and reactivity in depression and borderline personality disorder
Brain imaging: Studies of how the brain changes in response to treatments for depression or opiate dependence with co-occurring borderline personality disorder
All
studies include a non-clinical control group of healthy adults.
If you have any questions about these studies, or are interested in
participating, please contact Dr. Smoski at 684-6717.
