Group Therapy
Group therapy is an integral part of the DBT treatment
model. At the CBRTP, we offer several DBT skills-training groups as a complement to individual therapy. You
may see one of our individual therapists, or you could see someone from another practice. Group therapy in the DBT framework is an
important adjunct to treatment in which skills for living are taught.
You might think of this more as a class than as therapy, as you will
have a notebook and homework assignments each week. In addition, you
should know that DBT groups are not "support groups" in the traditional
sense, and discussion of personal issues is restricted to the skill being
taught.
